SUGGESTIONS ON PROMOTION: The best way to get people to come to an event is FOOD! Have a pot-luck or coffee/snacks either before or after the concert. Ask for volunteers to bring food and refreshments and then you will have a built in audience just from the people who volunteer to help and their families. Here are some ideas that other churches and organizations have used to promote a concert/event with Marc James: • Contact area publications about doing either a phone or email interview with you about the upcoming concert or even an interview with Marc as well. • Send PSA's to radio and newspapers about the concert. (Don't forget to include public radio and public access on Cable). • Contact area youth group leaders that you feel would be receptive and invite them to come. • Deliver fliers or posters to Music/Book stores and for other stores to display about the concert. You'll find that often Radio and Music/Book stores work together. Letting them know that you are promoting through both sometimes helps you get more attention. • Print up announcements and distribute them to members to hand out to people they know. • Send email announcements to all of your current membership with a link to Marc's website www.MarcMusic.net and to your website announcing the concert. Invite them to forward it to people they know. • Include a brief announcement about the concert/event on your answering machine message or mention the event in bulletins and/or newsletters, text announcements and all social media outlets.
